New pattern of GRE in effect from August 2011
ETS (Educational Testing Service) revised the format and pattern of GRE and the new format was implemented since August 2011. According to the new pattern, there are 5 sections on the exam – 2 Verbal sections and 2 Quantitative sections. 1 section can be either experimental section or research section which is unmarked.

New scoring system of GRE in effect from August 2011
ETS (Educational Testing Service) revised the scoring system of GRE from August 2011. GRE is no longer an exam with 1600 scoring scale. It is now scored on 340 score scale. Verbal section maximum score scale is 170 and Quantitative section maximum score scale is 170.
